Every barrel carries more than what is packed in it. Rice and shoes, yes. Also a mother's worry, a brother's promise, a month of work. Then it goes quiet. For weeks the only way to hear from it was to call the agent and ask the question they had already answered a hundred times.
We did not set out to move barrels. The agents do that, and they do it well. We set out to end the silence. One record, written once, seen by the agent and the family in the same moment. When the barrel moves, the people waiting for it know. Nobody has to ask.
